What is your cancelation policy?
Historic District Bed and Breakfast is a small exclusive property where every guest reservation is both important and special to us. We guarantee your room will not be booked to another party. We remove that room from our available inventory and lose the opportunity to sell it to others. That is why it is important for the guarantee to be honored both ways. If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least 14 (Fourteen) days* prior to your arrival date to cancel your reservation less a 20% cancelation fee per room. If you booked at a cancel free rate then you are protected, and get a refund less the $30/day protection fee.
In the unlikely event that you must cancel with less than fourteen (14) days* notice, shorten your stay or check out early, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation.
We offer a cancel free rate and/or travel protection through a third party, if you have purchased the travel protection and need to cancel in the 14 days leading up to check-in, and cancel according to the reasons agreed upon in the travel protection policy then you are protected, and get a refund less the travel protection percentage. If you booked at a cancel free rate then you are protected, and get a full refund less the $30 extra/day for the cancel protection.
Rates/policies are subject to change and vary during high impact periods and special requests. A cancel free rate is not avialable for whole house rentals and may not be avialable for some dates or holidays. *A 30 day cancellation notice is required on whole house bookings and for some holidays and special events.
Is there free parking?
Yes, we have plenty of free parking on the street in front of the bed and breakfast. We also have a couple of off-street parking spots that are available, first come first serve.
What is your pet policy?
Dogs under 50 pounds allowed in certain rooms with a call in reservation, special situations allow for dogs over 50 pounds, please call to make arrangements. $50 per stay doggie surcharge. Dogs are only allowed in the Clarence Johnston Suite and the Carriage House. Dogs may only bark for a short time. No cats sorry allergies.
Are kids allowed?
The inn is not suitable for kids (under the age of 12 years old), however, special situations allow for children, please call to make arrangements.
Do you offer room service?
Yes, we do offer room service for breakfast, just let us know and we'll put a menu in your room.
How can I purchase a gift certificate?
We do not issue Gift Certificates; however, we are members of the Midwest Association of Independent Inns and they do sell gift certificates here is a link.
Are there any rooms on the 1st floor?
All of our rooms are on the second floor, this is a historic building, and one must be able to climb stairs.
